We are incredibly excited to discover the lifelong wishes of deserving senior citizens across Colorado. Please review our wish guidelines and application below. If you or a loved one qualifies, we invite you to send us your "wish of a lifetime."
Guidelines for qualification:
- Minimum age of 65
- Legal United States citizen
- Annual income is no more than $16,245 for one person or $21,855 for a couple
- Has not been convicted of a crime for sexual abuse, financial exploitation, physical/verbal abuse, or a crime against another person, business, or organization.
- Must be physically and psychologically capable of experiencing the wish
What kind of wishes do you grant?
The wishes vary tremendously. Here is a list of wishes we have granted or are in the process of granting:
- Skydiving
- Learning to fly fish
- Visiting daughter who has terminal cancer in Arizona
- Dinner date with Jeremy Bloom
- A shopping spree and visit to a spa
- Laptop and printer so she could go back to school
- Racing a car
- A garden for a blind person
- Go to a Rockies game
- Travel to New Mexico to visit daughter's grave
- Install a Bruno Turney chair in van so injured gentleman can leave the house
- Hot Air Balloon ride
- Ride a white horse
- Get a recliner to help sleeping
- Go see a Broadway show
- Check out some of the recent wishes that have been granted...
What will not be granted or considered?
- Payment of bills or requests for cash
- Medical care (including medications and supplies)
- Any request which may be dangerous in nature or is not approved by the applicant's doctor
- Legal services
- Purchase of structure or house remodeling
What is the process?
- Fill out the Wish form (scroll down the page)
- Form can be filled out by the person that has the wish or by a someone that is closely associated with the person that has the wish
- A call will be made to the individual requesting the wish to ask some basic questions
- Wish Committee reviews the wishes once a month
- Wishes that are put a high priority list will be interviewed in person
- If a person's wish is not going to be granted a letter will be sent explaining why
FAQ's
- Who pays for the wishes?
- All expenses are covered by Jeremy Bloom's Wish of a Lifetime. There is no cost whatsoever to the Wish Recipient
- What does JBWOL do with the names/addresses?
- We do add the names to a database however we will only communicate with the person with the newsletter. We do not give or sell any names - ever!
